Speech Competition


A special speech competition organised by the Senior English Literary Association (SELA) was conducted on Saturday 6th April 2013. From two categories (gr 6,7 and 8,9 ,10) about 50 students participated and showed excellent skills of speech giving. The students gave speeches on different pre selected topics. Among the most notable speeches were 'Should music be introduced into the curriculum'? by Jumail Mohamed 7B, 'Should there be foreign workers in Maldives?' by Najuwa Rasheed 9A. Most students spoke on 'Students role on Nation building', and 'protecting the environment' There were excellent performances by many students on these topics. There will be 5 best nominations from each category and from the whole competition and best 3 places from each category as well as from the whole competition. The results of the competition will be announced very soon.
