A SESSION ON BULLYING

GA Atoll school is conducting an awareness program, in association with GA Family and children service centre. Already two sessions have been conducted by the team from the centre. The sessions about right ways in child upbringing, bullying and anti-bullying for parents and teachers have been very much appreciated. The instructor Mohamed Agleem (Head of GA family and Children's service centre) has plenty of experiences in conducting these sessions in various island communities and schools in Maldives.

In the sessions, a large number of parents and some teachers participated and sessions were found very interesting and the presentations had interactive materials and information which were useful and interesting. In the second session conducted, a real incident of bullying, a tragic end of a life of a 14 year old child was presented. Each session involved lots of parent participation, actively through questions and the instructor shared many real life examples and his personal experiences. A large number of male parents participated in the second session.

For the students of grade 9 and 10 there was a session on Friday at 2.30 conducted by the traffic police. A large number of students from both classes attended the session.
